If you need proof that people in foreign lands are.... well, foreign, look no further than this toy. Apparently, Japanese parents encourage their kids to play with their food, because this toy is a wind-up bowl of rice with various toppings. Hey, makes sense to us. Why should little Kameko play with a Barbie Doll when she can play with a rolling pork cutlet soup? Why would Yoshi tinker with an Etch-A-Sketch when he can spend the weekend racing Fried Shrimp appetizers? Who knows? These things might be a common as Teddy Bears in Tokyo, but they strike us as borderline insane. When you wind up the bowls and set them free, they dance around your table or floor. And they're so well made! Look at the photos.... They're only a couple of inches across, but the detail is outstanding. (The Japanese make stupid toys better than we make our automobiles.) There's four different styles. The choice will be ours, but if you buy more than one, we'll see that you get different ones.
